This technology was developed to help detect the direction and severity of impacts made to military vehicles. The sensor blanket that can be embedded into the vehicle will provide data provided by the sensors to indicate which areas may have experienced impact damage.
The sensor harvests energy from the movement of the vehicle. In the event of an impact, the energy harvested will allow the sensor to “wake up” and register the data; intensity, directionality, etc. The data can then be read wirelessly by personnel who need a complete picture of the possibility of areas impacted in a blast event.
This sensor blanket, when applied will provide a more thorough analysis in less time and will reduce the likelihood of any vehicles being returned to service without a complete repair.
